For those who played the game please tell me the ending was sort of just weak. I mean did he capture Morgan? Did they arrest him cuz he was around the corner and got away which we all know he was the antagonist in this game unless maybe I am missing something in this game where maybe your character was tripping balls and hallucinated him being the bad guy but nevertheless Morgan got away in the end. Did anyone feel the ending shouldve been more resolved than just you coming back saying "its over"

Anorher great game to play on my smartphone, this games are great for smartphones, currently playing bg2 enhanced edition on my phone, great port btw.

Can you beat the game by taking your medication and listening to your therapists?
That would be kind of appropriate and helpful as to not demonize mental health issues

Loved that game, one of the first I got for my cyrix (my first IBM compatible) in 1999/2000. Totally forgot its name, thanks for reminding me 🙂

    Didnt know you did this.

This game. I played the demo of it. Finished the demo, Immediately went to the store, bought it, got home and quite literately DID NOT STOP PLAYING until i beat it. I seriously played it non-stop all the way through from the moment i got home and installed it, until i finished it. I think i finished it at 3am.

This game got its claws in me in a serious way it was so good. I have the box, the dual jewel case, but i let a friend barrow it once and the disks went missing. Im so bummed. 🙁

What program did you use to record Sanitarium? I've been through five but none of them capture the game. One of them at least records the sound.

I actually had that big box for this game. I wish I had kept it. =( Though I have to say this game held up surprisingly well.

    Is this the real life?
    Is this just fantasy?
    Caught in a landslide
    No escape from reality
    Open your eyes
Look up to the skies and see
I'm just a poor boy, I need no sympathy
Because I'm easy come, easy go
    A little high, little low
Anyway the wind blows, doesn't really matter to me, to me
    Mama, just killed a man
Put a gun against his head
Pulled my trigger, now he's dead
    Mama, life had just begun
But now I've gone and thrown it all away
    Mama, ooo
Didn't mean to make you cry
If I'm not back again this time tomorrow
Carry on, carry on, as if nothing really matters
Too late, my time has come
    Sends shivers down my spine
    Body's aching all the time
Goodbye everybody I've got to go
Gotta leave you all behind and face the truth
Mama, ooo (anyway the wind blows)
    I don't want to die
I sometimes wish I'd never been born at all
I see a little silhouetto of a man
Scaramouch, scaramouch will you do the fandango
Thunderbolt and lightning very very frightening me
    Gallileo, Gallileo,
    Gallileo, Gallileo,
    Gallileo Figaro – magnifico
But I'm just a poor boy and nobody loves me
He's just a poor boy from a poor family
Spare him his life from this monstrosity
Easy come easy go will you let me go
Bismillah! No we will not let you go – let him go
Bismillah! We will not let you go – let him go
Bismillah! We will not let you go let me go
Will not let you go let me go (never)
Never let you go let me go
    Never let me go ooo
No, no, no, no, no, no, no
Oh mama mia, mama mia, mama mia let me go
Beelzebub has a devil put aside for me
    For me
    For me
So you think you can stone me and spit in my eye
So you think you can love me and leave me to die
Oh baby, can't do this to me baby
Just gotta get out just gotta get right outta here
    Ooh yeah, ooh yeah
    Nothing really matters
    Anyone can see
Nothing really matters nothing really matters to me
    Anyway the wind blows

Lol I see that Septerra Core on your shelf. It is one of my favorite games and it took me a ton of years to get it semi-working on a modern computer.

I love this game and all the levels except the cyclops thing, yeah i even like the Aztec level! but i feel like the ending was a bit anticlimactic and cheap

  11. Geoffrey Wilson

The painfully slow, plodding pace finally lost me around the Aztec portion. It was painfully clear that this went through development hell, and the creepiness seemed to stop for me by the time you played the little girl. Started out great, then fell down hitting every stair along the way.

I had this game for Windows 95 when I was a kid, couldnt get past the first screen. Didnt even know what a point and click game was and would get so frustrated I couldnt just walk wherever I wanted to go. I thought the game was broken but I just couldnt figure out what to do. Funny thing is I played it all the time because back then those prerendered graphics were top notch, It really blew my mind. I think the only reason I remember this particular game is because of how mad I used to get that I couldnt play such an awesome looking game. Thanks for the video it was a blast from the past for me plus Ive never seen anything past the stone dungeon (sanitarium?) from the beginning.

Just finished playing though this gamer myself before watching this review straight afterwards. Yup, it was intended, as the best virgin gameplay experience is given when I know as little as possible about the game.

Bought this a year ago on GOG because it seems awesome. Unfortunately it seems very unstable, it crashes randomly whenever it feels like it. I never got through the first room because of it.

Most reviewers and LPers seem to just immediately crap all over a game for comedic effect these days, so I really like the way LGR can admit something is dumb or obtuse without writing a game off completely… If there was ever a trustworthy source for seeking out odd curios, it's this fine fellow.

I would like you to check out Desperados: Wanted Dead or Alice, aka Desperados: The Wild West Adventure BUT the soundtrack/music always gets flagged on youtube, so be careful!

Lgr are you going to do anything on plainscape torment or torment tides of numenera or do thoes games not interest you just curious

  18. Joseluis0015

I completely get what you're saying. I did play this when it came out and I remember not finishing it because the game, to me, lost what originally got me hooked. Thank you for the review. It brought back memories. I want to finish it now.
