Tech Tips: How to Resolve a P9 Error Code (L)

hey guys Jeff here with Mitsubishi cooling and heating welcome to another episode of tech tips today we're gonna be taking a look at a p9 error code well dive in and see what the error code means some possible reasons why it may have occurred and some ways to fix it so we're taking a look at the p9 error code the p9 points specifically to the th5 thermistor of the indoor unit the th5 is located on the evaporator coil that measures the suction line temperature what this is saying is that that thermistor is either open or shorted what we want to do is to remove the thermistor and check the resistance then we would compare that resistance to the chart found in the service manual if the thermistor is open or shorted or completely out of range we would replace the thermistor if the thermistor checks out fine then it may be a matter of the board not interpreting that thermistor correctly in which case the board would need to be replaced for additional information and service manuals please feel free to visit WWF comm if there's any topics you would like to see discussed in the future please feel free to leave a comment below thanks for watching make sure to subscribe to our channel for future episodes of tech tips and homeowner help [Laughter] you
